Text editor

The name editor renames knobs, projects, MIDI racks, and snapshots. You reach it from edit mode (Press Select (short) Select on the name field), project menus, rack lists, or snapshot grids depending on context.

Normal mode — caret placement

When the editor opens, normal mode shows the current name with an insertion caret. Turn the encoder Turn the encoder to move the caret between characters (including the append position after the last character).

Open the keyboard

Press Select (short) Press Select to switch to keyboard mode. The header shows a page indicator when multiple keyboard pages exist.

Caps page

Press Caps on the keyboard to switch between lowercase and uppercase letters. The letter grid updates immediately; symbols and digits follow the active case rules.

Symbols page

When the header shows 2/2 (or higher), Turn the encoder turn the encoder to the navigation arrows in the header area, or move focus to Done and use page navigation, to reach the symbols page — digits, punctuation, and special characters not on the letter grid.

TIP

Space has a dedicated wide key on the bottom row. Backspace deletes the character before the insertion caret.

Save and exit

  • Press Back (short) Back (short) from normal mode commits the name (when changed) and exits.
  • Empty names are not committed — the previous name is kept.
  • Context titles show what you are renaming (e.g. Rename Knob 1, Rename Project).
